When I started my therapy practice years ago I experienced almost all of the concerns above. I remember feeling fearful and overwhelmed. When I look back, I can still clearly picture the early stages when I was so stressed out about having enough clients and being fearful of the “dreaded sales conversations”. I spent so much time, energy, and money trying to figure out on my own how to create a thriving business and I didn’t have a clue. I kept spinning around in circles trying different things from yellow page ads to mailings, hoping they would work and I spent way too much time on “busy work” hiding out in my office because I didn’t know exactly what to do.

When I finally committed to learning from business mentors who knew very little about therapy, but lots about business, remarkable things began to happen. My practice finally took off and I was working between two offices and seeing 8 clients a day. It’s one of those situations of “being careful what you ask for”. My business surged and I had a full practice of ideal fee-for-service clients and I was making “good” money, AND- I became totally burnt out!! I had created EXACTLY what I envisioned, which was a business modeling the practices of my fellow successful therapy friends, and I was BURNT OUT, and STRESSED OUT, with little energy to give to my family and friends, or myself. Here I had left an agency job to move into my own business where I could have the freedom and autonomy to have the business I envisioned, and I jumped onto the treadmill of working so hard and being exhausted. That was NOT the business I loved working in!!

When I finally decided to stop struggling in my private practice, I was determined to be successful in a way that HONORED MYSELF and MY UNIQUE GIFTS, I made a decision on how I wanted to create a business that was IN SERVICE TO MY CLIENTS AND MYSELF.

When I made that decision to invest in a gifted Business Mentor who understood the balance of work and freedom (and time with family and friends) it was then my BUSINESS TRANSORMED. I was able to concisely see where I needed to focus my time and energy to be of service to my clients, by empowering myself with clarity and a step-by-step plan.
